Penyani Paul Phiri better known as Paul Payne837, is a Zambian award winning recording artist, songwriter, motion graphics designer based in Lusaka, Zambia. He is known for for his versatility on multi genres ranging from afro beats to hip hop & dance music etc.

He gained momentum after the release of his debut mixtape “Makenika Mixtape” in 2016, featuring Thatboymassin, Sobre, God's Apple, Jo-Z Jay, Ricco Jamaal, IamFold from USA, Steve Rawd & Nbuzz from Nigeria & Rootz, with production from Gravity 9inety 6ix (now known as Dmstry), Shinko Beats, Ojo, Shom-C, Steve Rawd, Kasezya & Chill. The mixtape earned him airplay in Canada, USA, UK, Australia, Nigeria, South Africa & Uganda etc.

“Go & Glow” one of the top songs from his mixtape earned him a “best collaboration” award in Zambia. After the release of his debut EP War in 2018 with lead single "Nakupeza" causing a deluge internationally resulting in a frenzy among fans with the #NakupezaSeason hashtag as their selfie caption. The song premiered worldwide with chart success on the 3rd place on Liveway radio in Nigeria, Salt FM in the United Kingdom & Heartsong radio in Scotland. His follow up single "Nakana", an international collaboration with international award winning Disc Jockey DJ Victor256, with production from his protégé Fusa (of Amazing Beats) in Uganda, had a good reception in the African diaspora & across the globe. The song came out on the 5th position on the top 10 most wanted songs on Radio Christian Voice, with international airplay on Salt FM in the United Kingdom, hitting the top 10 charts & remaining undisputed as a number one single for 3 consecutive months.

The impact earned the song a nomination on the 2018 song of the charts, ending up at the 3rd position overall. A "Artist Of The Year" nomination at the Gospel Xplosion in the UK followed after the buzz, closing the year in style. The EP received massive response locally & internationally, with the USA, UK & South Africa topping the analytics of the countries streaming/downloading the album on Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube & Deezer. He continues to keep the fire burning with every new release he puts out & there’s no sign of him slowing down.
